Sporty Fun at ESPN Club at Disney's BoardWalk

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World Resort and ESPN have teamed up to present ESPN Club, a slam-dunk sports entertainment facility at Disney's BoardWalk. The 13,000-square-foot club includes an interactive multimedia entertainment center, television and radio broadcast facility, an arcade of interactive sporting games and a full-service restaurant -- all of which combine to provide fans with the ultimate sports broadcast entertainment.

ESPN Club is a highlight of Disney's BoardWalk, a hotel and entertainment complex that recalls the grand resorts of the Mid-Atlantic shore in the early 1900s.

Periodically, guests visiting the club have the opportunity to observe and participate in live interviews with celebrity athletes taking place at the sports desk or in the radio booth. In addition to live programming, special demonstrations are staged within the club -- from golf demonstrations to championship billiards.

Ninety television monitors are in place throughout the facility, and even a bathroom break won't mean missing out on your favorite sports action. All the restrooms are equipped -- wall to stall -- with televisions.

ESPN Club consists of three areas: Sports Central, The Sidelines and The Yard.

Sports Central
The main dining area is Sports Central, themed to look like a sports arena with a basketball hardwood floor and giant "scoreboard" projecting the big game of the day. Sports Central also houses a fully equipped television and radio broadcast booth. Many ESPN shows such as "Sports Reporters," "Baseball Tonight" and "Up Close," as well as popular radio talk shows, originate from Sports Central. In addition, "Baseball Tonight" starts its television season broadcasting spring training action.

The Sidelines
The Sidelines is equipped with more than 40 monitors linked to the club's 25 satellite sources. Plus, four on-line stations are available to check out scores, news and information from espn.com. For the "gamers," booth monitors can switch from sporting events to Sony Playstation video games. The Sidelines also features a full-service bar.

The Yard
The Yard, an "urban playground" complete with chain-link fence and red-brick walls, entertains sports fans of all ages with an arcade full of interactive sporting games. A merchandise area offering authentic ESPN Club and ESPN merchandise also is included.
